Blog 6-- Kari and Sarah

For our second dress the concept is, "Memories never fade" and in order to make the message apparent we had to dig deeper and figure out what exactly the memory we are trying to portray is. The idea of the dress is based on a more personal story from my Great Grandparents who stayed in contact through letter while he was away. The idea was that the letters were worn and tattered from her reading them over and over. Our dress design is based on the style in the 1920's, the time period that the story is from, and is going to have a worn and tattered look to it. The bottom portion of the skirt will have the words "Memories never fade" in repeat that fade to nothing. The idea of the dress is to have it be this worn look as if it is a letter that has been read over and over and is now falling apart.

The type for this dress is based on Ads from the 20's and letter formats that were used.
