I can see this dress as a very loud and impact heavy piece. There is much commentary about the purpose and dis/satisfaction of being a Geisha, and that folklore sounds very interesting.
I'm not seeing the message you're trying to convey yet, just the yama-uba title in the concept sketches.
I've been to Japan twice and have taken a year of Japanese language. There is so much that you could say with this dramatic inspiration.

I really like your illustrations and the colors in your mood board. Everything is so fun. And i especially love the idea of a geisha. My great great aunt was a Japanese geisha. I can't wait to see your dress.
What a strong concept! I'm not sure of what you're "saying" on the garments though...that they're strong young women? Love the illustrations--they're strong and convey the Asian geisha aesthetic very well but it's still young and flirty. -Michelle Batol
